Evie’s lemonade stand to benefit Martin House Children’s Advocacy Center

By Jamey Boyum

TYLER, Texas (KLTV) – Stacie White and her daughter Evie White are back with Evie’s Lemonade Stand, which is set up in front of the Longview Walmart Supercenter on Gilmer Road. One hundred percent of money donated for her lemonade goes to charity.

Evie is becoming a veteran of the lemonade stand and there’s no end in sight. A Longview 12-year-old has once again opened her lemonade stand in front of the Walmart at 2440 Gilmer Road. And this is the fifth time around 100 percent of the money made goes to charity.

They have definitely become efficient in setting up Evie’s Lemonade Stand, and the new tent recently donated to the cause is a bit flashier than the old one.

Back in 2022 Evie White’s school held a fundraiser for the Hiway 80 Women and Family Services Center. Her mom, Stacie White remembers it well.

“She was like, ‘well, who’s going to donate to them over the summer?’ And I was like, ‘well, I guess you are,’” Stacie said.

And if Evie doesn’t recall what she said in 2022, well, we do.

“I’m really happy that we get to do this. It makes me feel joyful. I’m just really pumped up,” Evie said.

And that excitement has not changed.

“Within four years we have raised over $7,000 for charity,” Evie said.

That first year Evie had low expectations about the lemonade stand.

“My goal was fifty dollars. My mom thought we were going to make just a couple hundred bucks. But at the end of the day, she was sitting on a big roll of cash,” Evie said.

They gave $1800 to Hiway 80. A cup of lemonade is a fifty-cent donation, but almost everyone gives more.

“We really get more donation than actual selling,” Evie said.

Some don’t even take the lemonade. Elizabeth Partain was the first customer of the year.

“It’s cute! I love bringing back lemonade stands. It’s awesome!” Partain said.

“Well, you are wearing the proper colors for it,” I said.

“Yes,” Partain said.

“And I’m guessing so is your daughter,” I said.

“Yes,” she laughed.

“We have a lot of lavender,” Stacie said.

Lavender and yellow are Evie’s colors. And color is all over that stand except for some black and white paper declaring Evie’s Lemonade Stand a 501c3 nonprofit. Mom helped with that.

Evie’s Lemonade Stand is open one more day until next year from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in front of the Gilmer Road Walmart Supercenter. This year proceeds will go to the Martin House Children’s Advocacy Center.
